Pat LePoidevin: Taking fans on a fantastical musical journey
Best known for his powerful, melodic vocals, Pat LePoidevin will take you on an intimate journey with memorable songs and uplifting guitar riffs. A Nova Scotia native inspired by Bon Iver and The National, Pat often tours Atlantic Canada and has been lucky enough to preform at large festivals such as the Halifax Pop Explosion and the Dawson City Music Festival.
During university, Pat started going out to musical performances on a weekly basis. He was inspired by the local talent in Sackville, NB and found himself entranced by the shows. Each show encouraged him to build on his love of music, taking ideas from performances and twisting them into his own creative work. Using his experiences as a base, Pat began crafting his own songs.
With five albums to his name, Pat released his most recent album in 2018—Captain Myles & the S.P.R.—a nine track LP that tells the story of two children travelling through space. Each song touches on the themes of exploration, homecoming and existence. The sounds range from gentle emotive tunes to high energy songs like his contribution to the Blundstone Playlist Volume III, Broadcast.
Pat’s popularity has grown over the years with a sizable fan base. He loves the opportunity to meet interesting and creative people throughout the music industry, but the most important thing is having his listeners connect with his music. “I hope that fans take away something personal,” Pat says. “When people approach me about how a certain song has affected their life, it makes you feel like it’s all worth it.”
As an advocate for Blundstone, Pat was a logical choice as a playlist contribution. Having owned twelve pairs himself, he swears by the brand and gives each pair all the love and care they deserve. He can’t wait to hike across Atlantic Canada rocking his awesome boots.
Take a minute and listen to Broadcast to get to know the characters on Pat’s fantastical and whimsical journey.
